Six Word Saturday: Today’s Post Is Here at last
A few weeks back Jude showed rare red postboxes she found in the UK. I added a couple of old blue ones from Germany. Going through older files I came across this French postbox. The colour, even today, of French letter boxes is yellow. This particular one, found in Oppède in Provence, is not ancient but old enough.
Jude has posted about British postboxes in what we would call “fire station red”. German postboxes are typically yellow but evidently that was not always the case. I found these blue ones in Michelstadt and in Schwetzingen respectively, both date back to the late 19th century. The one in Michelstadt is still in use but I don’t know about the one from Schwetzingen. Both date back to the late 19th century.
Check out Jude’s post Rare Post Boxes for red postboxes and interesting facts about them.
The message on this mailbox reads: “Push the community gazette all the way in! Missing the one from last week“
Square 26 for the KindaSquare Challenge in October.

This is for the One Word Photo Challenge. More photos with the subject “letter” can be found here.

I don’t know if this was ever an official postbox but it was mounted on the side of a house in Schwetzingen in Germany, not near a door.
