Childhood Memories

On my way to and from school there was a carousel very similar to this one. After school my friends and I used to stop in the playground and we SWIRLED around until we got dizzy. I remember being scolded not only once by my mother because of coming home an hour later than she expected.

One Word Sunday

Mee-mar, mee-mar … this is LOUD!

I immediately thought of this conundrum when I saw the prompt:

You are driving in a car, keeping at a constant speed. On your right side is a slope. On your left side is a huge fire engine, driving at exactly the same speed as yourself. A large pig is galopping in front of you, definitely bigger than your car and you can’t overtake. You are being pursued by a helicopter flying on street level.

What will you do to get out of this situation unscathed?

Simple solution: Get down from the children’s carousel and stop drinking mulled wine!

The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Carousel

Fighting the fire

Sankt FlorianSt Florian is the patron saint of firefighters.  This statue of him was erected in 1991 in front of the old building of the Munich fire brigade.

O heiliger Sankt Florian, verschon’ mein Haus, zünd’ and’re an“, this not-really-serious prayer in German is a wellknown saying: “O Holy St Florian, please spare my house, set fire to another one”.
