Born with wings
I’m usually too slow to photograph birds in flight. So I appreciated the strong winds that held the seagulls in a steady position. Also thanks to the kestrels I’ve photographed over the years – their hovering made it easier.
And I am adding this photo of these great egrets who were visiting for a few days on their way south for the winter. They didn’t let me get close enough for a good shot but I managed to snap them taking.

Her place is on her horse

Rider and horse stand by the roadside, very unassuming. The size is deceptive as the figure is not even a metre high (discounting the pedestal). I couldn’t find anything about the artist.
Seen in Heiligkreuz, a village, little bigger than a hamlet, in the Odenwald.
