Folding lemons

I often like my collages to be blurred or with soft focus. But then I regret to lose the definition. So here is “have it both ways” collage. Just use the slider.
One photo with all the right colours in it – how could I not try that?

And while I was playing, I played some more.

These were the given colours for this week’s Värikollaasit. The butterfly is a common brimstone, or in Latin a Gonepteryx rhamni. In Finnish as well as in German we call it a lemon butterfly. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any lemon pictures or lemons on hand. Maybe I’ll send Mr Eklastic to the stores later today.

Check out Aino’s blog for more collages.

Kala namak

Kala namak is one of the Indian names of Indian black salt, the inspiration for today’s Värikollaasit:

Aino’s template for the Värikollaasit / Colour Collage this week were these peppery colours:

and I played around.  This collage is too blue but I love the swan and his prominent beak:

I then took other beaks into the mix: swan, duck, goose, and stork:

And here I contrasted the softness of a painting with the starkness of a cartoon:

And I can’t make up my  mind which I like best.

If you want to have a look what others did with the pepper spice colour, have a look.

Always look your best

This colour collage based on Aino’s template:

needs a bit of an explanation, I fear.  Aino named the colour “lovage” (after the herb) which the automatic translator from Finnish to English turned into “lipstick“.  Isn’t it obvious that I had to use this lipstick using monkey in my collage?
