Heliotropium indicum

One of the little plants I found near the beach in Cyprus, heliotropium indicum. So called because the flowers were believed to turn towards the sun (i.e. heliotropium), why indicum (i.e. Indian) I don’t know.

A Greek Cypriot

His statue stands facing the Apostle Andreas Orthodox Church in Polis Chrysochous. I think he is considered a hero in the struggle between the Turkish and Greek parts of Cyprus but I couldn’t read the plaque.

Sideways Queue

I’m not really back from holidays. I don’t want to be back. But I peaked in today’s Ragtag Daily Prompt and I couldn’t resist sharing this photo. It’s a queue. A queue of flamingoes. They did come closer to our resort’s beach and I will show photos of them at a later stage. But how could I resist this prompt?

BTW: The fly by (actually quite a few fly byes during half an hour) was spectacular.
