When I tried to lift up this seemingly deceased victim of my cat it came back to life and flew out of the open doorways in the garden.
I was stunned. The dragonfly was stunning.

……………………………………….

Yes, there are actually six of them in this picture. Looks a bit messy, I know, so I am going to balance that with a very clear, down-to-earth shot:

The valley to the east from here is known as the six mill valley because there are six mills (suprise!). They are not in operation anymore and function as small museums, an upscale restaurant or have been transformed into places of residence. There are a lot more mills further along the small river called Weschnitz, to be sure, but these are the ones within the scope of a comfortable Sunday stroll.
The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Six

… and the cat just lies there …

… anywhere, really …

But the cat will also tell me lies. Like: “We are just friends, having a friendly get-together.”

And yet, then the dragonfly just lies there.

For the “A photo a week” Challenge asking for photos with the subject being off-centre.
For me, focus is about the subject – as long as my subject is crisp the rest of the photo can happily go blurry (or, if I want to be artsy about it, bokeh) I like it if a contrast in colour adds to this distinction.

The resulting effect can be quite geometrical, lines in the photo above, circles in the one below.

Only one of the two loving couples in the shot below is in focus, but that’s okay since the one to the left is mirroring the main focus.

I am also not above cheap puns:
