Running water next to snow. Liquid.
Static water about to freeze. Solid.

Snow thawing. Liquid water, again.
Do not walk on the ice!
And we all know boys will be boys.
NB: The water in this pond is not deep at all. Nevertheless …
Since this winter was a total non-event in this corner of the earth (no snow, no ice, a few mornings with a semblage of hoarfrost and that was it) I have to resort to a bit of cheating. Eis in German means ice but also ice cream.

For One Word Sunday: Ice. Icier and possibly colder photos can be found here.

It’s not cold enough for proper ice yet. The pond is about to freeze – possibly.

These girls are trying to pull the float across the ice.

And as long as there is no proper ice around, I’ll have to go and buy my ice at the petrol station.
For A Photo a Week: Ice, Ice, baby.

Nancy is asking: “Have you ever walked pass an opening in a wall or barrier and suddenly an amazing view opened up?” for A Photo a Week. I woke up to unexpectedly closed windows in our garret flat some years ago. But we persevered and we managed to free them partly from ice and snow and were greeted with this:

(Please imagine some sunshine to improve the view.)

For Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: hot and cold.
Why not go to extremes for a change?

Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge asked for weather pictures. Find more of them here.

I came upon several of these ice baubles with the remains of a tea candle in the middle, apparently the leftovers from a street party the night before.

Today was the first really decent spring day so I’ll just quickly slip in these wintery pictures. The first one is from the entrance to a swimming pond (still closed) – the biker sits on top of the hut where they sell sweets and ice cream. I will have a look out whether she changes clothes once it gets warmer.
