no matter what!
I was treated to an impromptu fireworks display yesterday. While I was clearing up the classroom where I sub at the moment I saw rockets going in the sky. The staff of the electric company next door was out in their yard, in the dark and in the cold, barbequeing and drinking and shooting rockets. I can only guess it was a company Christmas party. They knew that what they were doing was illegal (there are strict regulations about shooting fireworks, limited to New Year’s Eve, even selling them early is forbidden) because I heard: “If the police shows up …” followed by toasts. Since they didn’t invite me to join them I left before I could see whether the police did indeed show up to disturb the festivities (or possibly join in).
If there ever was a God that couldn’t restrain himself but burst forth at any possible occasion it was Zeus. Not for nothing is the lightning bolt his insignia. Lots of new beginnings came from Zeus’ burgeoning desires. Square #31 in May: Burgeoning
Hurrah! Henry is back Home! Our cat left so early that he avoided New Year’s Eve curfew. I take this opportunity to wish everybody a belated happy New Year. These are totally unambitious impressions from the private fireworks for the New Year’s celebration. No tripod, no special camera settings, just what I could click and surprise myself with one gloved hand (holding a glass of bubbly in the other, wishing it was hot tea instead).
