Gold and Glass
I thought of this photo first when I read the prompt. Liquid gold. Sunset over our small lake.
But then … I thought of the glass blowers at the National Glass Centre in Sunderland.

It’s been a few years (six, to be exact) since we were in Sunderland and took the opportunity to visit the National Glass Centre. The exhibits range from the mundane (Pyrex measuring jugs) to the sublime (works of art made of glass). And of course, the glass blowing demonstration is a must.

I’ve used photos from the exhibition and from the demonstration at the National Glass Centre quite a few times for photo challenges – I thought I add a bit of information this time. The glass blowing demonstration is a truly wonderful and informative presentation. Unfortunately, just a few weeks ago I heard that one of the presenters, the talented man on the right, has passed away. So I want to add this photo as a tribute to his talent and skill.
