For once, I found a mural with a signature – Christian Schopp (but no additional information on the artist, except for his mobile phone no. in the corner ). This is on the side of a newspaper kiosk in Bad Homburg, where magazines, tobacco, and lottery tickets are sold.

I can make out the words “IN THE DIRECTION OF THE WIND” and “IN RICHTUNG DES WINDES” and I think I can see the name “JANA” but not a last name. The mural is on the campus of the university of Lüneburg, Germany.

I spotted this collection of murals under a bridge and in the close of vicinity of that bridge in Lüneburg, Germany.

I like the two tone colour – blueish-grey and yellow – at the opposite spectrum of the colour wheel. Because of the underpass and of severe time constraints (I was running with a group) these photos don’t show off the whole beauty of the arrangement.

I found this fun guy in a pedestrian underpass in Lüneburg, Germany. He was the only worthwhile creature on an ugly, smeared wall full of tags and badly written slogans.

A bit later I met him again, this time on a distribution box. I’m sure if I had had more time to spend I would have seen him even more often.

From the same town a simple quote – “Let your dreams outlast the night.” As long as they are not nightmares …

This long mural is an advertisement for a plumber who plans and installs bathrooms, solar panels, heating systems (the company’s name is unobtrusively in the last photo, bottom right). This is in Oberursel, just northwest of Frankfurt in Germany.
(Apologies to Woody Allen for the truncated quote.)

I saw these on a short visit to Düsseldorf, Germany. Unfortunately, I had no time to explore further – but they look like part of a series.

I saw this a couple of years ago in Neustadt/Dosse in Brandenburg, Germany. I couldn’t find a local who could (or would) explain to me what the creator of the piece was protesting against. Apparently, he or she or some organisation wrote applications yearly from 2000 onwards, which were filed and denied, and in 2004 the matter was finally closed, whether by death of the process itself or a person involved I don’t know.

Seen in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, at Hanauer Landstraße. Taken from the car while driving by (note to self: go back!).
