It is said that the favourite colour of the prophet Mohammad was green. Considering that he lived in a desert country, I can totally relate. How lovely to find green shoots in the sand after a short shower!
However, I wonder if he would approve of the neon coloured trimmings one finds on the outside of many mosques in Saudi Arabia.
The mosque shown here is found in Germany, though, and I admit I tweaked the green tint a bit to make my point.

I could have chosen any kind of food growing to get my point across – but grain is nutritious and lovely.

Memories of a St Patrick’s Day are necessarily blurred. I remember it was fun … And so will be this year’s – even if the Main in Frankfurt won’t be running with green beer, we will be running on beer (and it might even be green).

Paula’s Thursday Special asked for portrait and landscape photos of the same motive. As I didn’t just want to crop old photos I took my camera for a walk, first in the vineyards around here and then in the local park Hermannshof, famed for its horticultural displays.
