I’m a Fan of … #233
In Africa the hare (not the rabbit! PLEASE!!) is known as the trickster. He plays tricks on everybody, enemies, friends, family – he is an ecumenical abuser.

Seeing these two in the field, I couldn’t help but think they were plotting their next chicanery.

“Let’s pretend we’re drowning! – If somebody comes to rescue us we can jump them!!”

Our corner of Germany is usually a bit earlier with spring, so the very first signs – crocus, wild plums, storks returning – have already come. But on Saturday I went for a bike ride and I saw the first hares of the year.
I left them at this point. Privacy, and all that. Spring is well on its way.

Run, Lensman, run! A hare is playing in the sun. Run, Lensman, run! (a variation on a German's children's song: Ein Jäger längs des Weihers ging)
The eyes can’t get any bigger.
Sometimes it’s hard to see them.
And when I get closer, they usually run.

The hares camouflage well and if they weren’t moving I would not have noticed those three at all.
