When Yellow Leaves Do Hang upon Those Boughs
Yes, that’s a bastardised Shakespeare line. This is how sonnett no. 73 starts properly: That time of year thou mayst in me beholdWhen yellow leaves, or none, or few, do hangUpon those boughs which shake against the cold,Bare ruined choirs, where late the sweet birds … Continue reading When Yellow Leaves Do Hang upon Those Boughs
Four Seasons
Looking through my files for cloudy and stormy photos to fit today’s theme, I picked four that were all from different seasons without planning for it. They are all from Germany except for the summer photo which I took in the Czech Republic. Cee’s Which … Continue reading Four Seasons

The Deutsche Weinstraße in Autumn
Even in the original this almost looks like a knitted sweater straight out of the 70s.

The original photo already has elements of the impressionist, even the pointillist style. So I just enhanced this aspect.

The last edit seems like a combination between bold lines and washed out colour shapes.

The editing was done with photoscape.

The Best Comes Before the End
Autumn arrives with rich yellow tones overlaying the greens of summer.
Soon reds and browns join the composition.
As time goes on, it gets darker
Until the weather decides: “No more Mr Nice Autumn!”
It’s Been too Dry and too Hot
so the mushrooms are overdue.

I’ve been happy with our Indian summer on a personal level; naked arms and legs and no thick jackets yet. But I am also more than concerned about these temperatures in a wider context. For us in the temperate zones it means a change of the plants and animals that live here but it is manageable. For people living in hotter climes and close to water this moves more and more to life threatening conditions. Which in turn will impact us greatly.
Autumn is for Walking
Autumn is the time to pick up your walking staff and hit the trails.
It’s best to check out the weather forecast first and make sure you know in which direction the wind blows.
This advice is particular important for them that travels the air (which they are wont to do more in autumn when the year draws to a close).
