Small devotional cenotaphs can be found in many places all over Europe, at least the more catholic ones. One in our area is at a particular windy spot between two valleys. It is known as “Kalter Herrgott” (cold god).
There was a short wintry spell last week. Just enough to build a trio of small snowmen.
And it was just cold enough to catch those three frost noses.
The Ragtag prompt today, was a Scottish word, oorie. I had to look it up (and I feel reassured by the fact that some native English speakers had to, as well) and the Collins Dictionary defines it as “gloomy, dismal, or chilled with cold” – the addendum “Scottish” is almost unnecessary, don’t you think.
I immediately thought of this photo, which I took a few years ago.
Layers can be fun.
Movement is definitely overrated.
So apparently is sight.
Ignore fashion. Layer for warmth.
Seasonal layers.
Proof that some people don’t need the weather as excuse for layering.
