Two kinds of flying. One is a method from the present, one a method from the past. I wonder what the future holds?

It’s a kind of beer from the Allgäu (a part of Bavaria). With a “Kind” on the label. Who wouldn’t want to mix alcohol with children?

I’ve used this group before. It’s a sculpture of, I think, eight sleepers. There is space to sit next or opposite them but I don’t think living people can really relax close to them.

This is part of a group depicting the night in the garden Gethsemane when all the disciples fell asleep while Jesus prayed.

The way animals sleep, one can only be envious.

And what do turtles dream of?

Cats of course, are champion sleepers. This one slept next to a busy road and had made this flower pot his own. A potted cat, so to speak.

It doesn’t look comfortable but it must be – at the moment this is our cats favourite place for a snooze.

And this picture is – for me – pure bliss. Falling asleep while reading a book … without the dummy, for preference though.

This is the “tobacco fountain” in Lorsch, Germany. Tobacco was cultivated in the area since the late 17th century; in 1949 2000 people worked in the tobacco industry (out of a population of 6000) but after the second world war it declined rapidly and the last factory closed in 1993. The fountain shows a worker threading tobacco leaves so they could be hung up to dry. Contrasting her busy work are a child and cat, both busy playing with marbles, while the modern day tourists in the background are busy relaxing.
This is for One Word Sunday, the word being – surprise! – busy. More contributions can be found here.
