Last on the Card in September

Camera SD

The weather was nice yesterday and I went to the local botanical garden where there is a small pond. I was in a good mood until I got a phone call that made me pack away the camera and go home. My mood matched the one of the fish, I think.

I wear one ring and never a necklace. But I do wear earrings. I took the photo to show somebody the new feet earrings and the S.H.I.T.S. brooch I made. In case you are wondering: it means “Saturday Hash in the Summer” (I only wear it when I’m around people who know what it stands for.)

Last on the Card in August

A small caveat for the phone SD: it’s not really the very last on the card. I use my smartphone extensively at work and the last photos were of the vaccination cards of my students (if they are vaccinated they don’t have to test for COVID twice a week). Obviously, I cannot share those.

So, 20 photos back – this is it. I feel questions like “What is it?” coming on. So here is a short explanation: It’s a crochet wine glass holder to hang around your neck so that you can have your hands free while rambling through the vineyards sampling the wine from the various cellars on “Weinwanderung” days.

May I show you?

The last picture on my camera SD in May

And now that I have phone with a decent camera I couldn’t withhold this work of art:

It’s our dishwasher minus the front panel. A photo we had to send to the handy(wo)man.

“Ag, shame!”

This explains the title not the photo (no editing, no explanation). Shame is a term used by South Africans all the time. You’ll see a cute puppy –> “Ag, shame.” (ag is pronounced with a long a as in “laugh” and the g is the same sound as in the Scottish “Loch”). Your friend’s son has won a rugby scholarship. –> “Ag, shame!” You tell your friend that your mother-in-law had an accident and is in hospital. –> “Ag, shame!”

Run up to Christmas

My last outing with the camera was on Sunday and I had a post for Brian’s Last on the Card challenge all prepared, and then late last night, this happened:

If you can’t see it: it started to snow. Not all that common for our area, certainly very seldom so timely, ready for 1 December.
