The hedgehog that lives in my kitchen
This is a brilliant cheese grater, aptly called “Kasimir” by the company who makes this product, alluding to “Käse“, i.e. cheese. It is in lieu of the very fat hedgehog that apparently lives in the neighbourhood gardens and keeps eating the cat food of the neighbours’ cat (he is fed outside by us when his owners are away for a couple of days).

Blowin’ in the Wind
For all its phallic appearance this is the female flower of a hazel (possibly a Siebolds hazel). These trees or shrubs rely on wind pollination hence the girls have to put it all out to catch the pollen.
