Lit up lines
It wasn’t the photo I wanted to use to kick off Becky’s Square October, I had it lined up for later. But since Becky seemed to be intrigued by Geriatri’x lines I thought I give her another helping of (almost) the same (I did change the title a bit).

Palace windows
These are windows from the Heidelberg Castle (Renaissance), Gersfeld, Schwetzingen and Mannheim palace (all three Baroque buildings).
Heidelberg, Mannheim and Schwetzingen are in close proximity of each other – one can see that sandstone is a prevalent building material in the area. Gersfeld is not that far away, about the same distance from Frankfurt to the north-east as the others are south.

Neckarbrückenblues
Although Joy Fleming was thinking of a different bridge over the river Neckar when she sang her signature tune: Neckarbrückenblues, this bridge is about 20km upriver, and thus qualifies for Neckarbrücke.
It spans the Neckar between Ilvesheim and Seckenheim, which is a suburb of Mannheim.
