To some it’s madness, and to others it’s exhilarating fun. I’m sitting on the fence. I might like to try it. I think. Maybe. Okay, I’m off the fence. IT IS MADNESS! Weekly Prompt Weekend Challenge: Madness

The light was queer and I just clicked quickly to snap the three herons flying past. Since most of the storks (but not all) have left, there are more herons in the field. Yesterday I counted five. Anyway, only on the computer screen did I see the spec on the upper left side and realised there was another kind of flyer in the air.

“Look up!” they said. So I looked up. And realised that

looking up in the forest

can be different to looking up in the city. Except, it isn’t. Not really.

Being on the other end, being lookup up at, sort of, can result in strange effects of the brain.
I’ll stick to looking up. Even on clear days, the sky may offer something to see.

We’d been hiking for three days between 2000 and 3000 m altitude – which is the only reason I can give for taking not more photos of this amazing sight (I have exactly 4 shots) of microlight paragliders.

Where I live, there are mostly the motorised microlight pilots. The motor announces their approach so I often have time to grab the camera in time.

Higher up and further away, almost mingling with the clouds, still light as a feather.

And sometimes their flight leads them into the light of the setting sun.

Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day to do all that I want (and unfortunately, must) do. So today, I’ll make a virtue of necessity and I post one photo of a motor that just flitted by – just like my time.

When we used to live on the highveld in South Africa bright blue skies without a cloud in sight where the order of the day during winter. In reference to a Perry Rhodan story (a German scifi series, published in pulp fiction form) we used to call it “das blaue System” (the blue system – a defense shield around planets which manifested by bright blue skies without any colour gradient). How can I not use the photo of this aircraft with the “Star Wars” logo blazoned across it to illustrate this idea?

Contrary to popular belief, we have blue system skies even in Germany.
