The Rhine Valley and Its Blessings

The Upper Rhine Valley stretches from Basel in Switzerland to above Frankfurt. It’s up to 40km wide. In Bingen the valley narrows and becomes a gorge. On both sides of the upper and middle Rhine is wine growing country.

Steps, Steps and more Steps

I’ve just come back from the Middle Rhine wine region (between Bingen and Koblenz), part of which is a UNESCO heritage site. It is quite breathtaking to see the steep slope vineyards on either side. Getting up the steps between the different vineyards must be even more breathtaking, literally.
