Sailing in the late afternoon on the waters of the mouth of the river Wear.

The water glistening, the coast hazy in the background.
And now for something completely (?) different:

Sailing on the river Neckar where it is a mere 120 metres wide, with river cruise ships making the waterway even narrower, this guy showed some real acrobatics.

Stand up paddling on the river Neckar in Heidelberg.

Looking west – where the hills of the Odenwald give way to the Upper Rhine Valley.

Looking east to the step in the river, next to the lock for ships.

I came upon rows and rows of cup plants along the banks of the river Neckar a few days ago. They are about 2 metres high and non native to Germany but I have no idea whether they are self-seeding or are meant to be there. Their Latin name is silphium perfoliatum.

Linked to Simply Looking Up. I was looking up at a look out point over the river Neckar, in Ladenburg, Germany.

Although Joy Fleming was thinking of a different bridge over the river Neckar when she sang her signature tune: Neckarbrückenblues, this bridge is about 20km upriver, and thus qualifies for Neckarbrücke.

It spans the Neckar between Ilvesheim and Seckenheim, which is a suburb of Mannheim.
