These are two shots of the same piece of art walk in Absteinach in the Odenwald. The difference lies in the focus on the opening or the focus at the things seen through the opening. The Cosmic Photo Challenge: Through an Opening
you can’t see forever and ever but still pretty far.
This is the view from the Tromm, one of the highest mountains / hills in the Odenwald towards the west. The Wachenburg, a fortress I normally look up to, can be seen in the middle and beyond is the Rhine Valley. On a clear day one can see the hills of the Palatinate in the distance on the other side of the river.

A strange Latin name for this mountain of the Odenwald overlooking the Rhine Valley. The original tower was blown up in by two 18-year-olds when the Allied Forces arrived at the end of the second world war. The US Arm put a radio mast on the site and used it for many years as a radio relais station. Today it is used for internet purposes and more importantly, as a marker for air traffic control.
