St Martin Is Drawing Near

The original photo.

The photoshopped versions are all cropped.
A I changed the shot to monochrome but applied selective colouring to the orange of the beak and the area around the eye.
B No change to shot A except the selective colour has been changed from orange to blue.
C The focus around the head of the goose in the centre has been kept but the rest of the photo is taken out of focus.
D I used lunapic.com to change the photo into a picture in the style of Rembrandt.

Quoth the Raven

The original.

Or possibly it’s a rook or a crow or a corbie.

Like many outdoor sculptures this raven was not easy to photograph as one has little influence on the background if the bird stands in the middle of a private garden.

1-2-3 challenge in October

1,2,3 – FIRE!

When I posted my tulip pictures for the One to Three Challenged, I had forgotten that I had been playing around with my little “minikens” and done a series with them. So here is a bonus 1-2-3.

The original – but for a bit of cropping

Monochrome and negative.

Explosion (fish eye) and implosion

And since we are looking at toys I thought a lego version might be fitting.

One-two-three Photo Processing Challenge in May

Star Magnolias

A white star magnolia. Untreated.

Monochrome – one in black and white, one in sepia.

Then I went to LunaPic and went a bit crazy putting the picture through every art filter they have.

These are the best ones to my mind:

The Filters are called Sadness, Floating, and Escher.

Magies Are Posterboy Pretty

Magpies don’t have the best of reputations but their black and white coat with its stark contrast is just too beautiful.

The black and white is calling for a monochrome treatment. In the second adaptation I played around with the white balance. I like to do that sometimes because it can yield interesting effects. And then I just went colour crazy.
