This particular alley is from Neustadt an der Weinstraße – where the name says it all: look at the vines overhead. Cars and walkers have to share but consideration widens the path so that everybody gets through.

I was really puzzled by this notice I came across in a piece of wood in the Palatium:
Careful! Wood!
These trees are actually woodland.
Enter at your own risk.
Branches might fall down and trees might fall over.
Please stay out on windy days.
Don’t stand underneath the trees and do not park there.

Wurstmarkt time is high jinx time!
The Wurstmarkt in Bad Dürkheim is the largest winefest in the world. It lasts for 2 weeks. Enough time for all the high jinx to last you a whole year!
The sculpture is part of the Wurstmarkt fountain in the square in front of the Bad Dürkheim station.
Disclaimer: I did not want to jinx my weekend by focussing on the negative aspect of the word.
and he is Karl Gottfried Nadler, a poet who wrote in the local Heidelberg vernacular. He was a good looking man judging from the scultpture.
