Lumpybumpy something
(I had this as a working title when I prepared this post because I couldn’t think of anything at the time. Now at the time of publishing I quite liked it so I am leaving it.)
You know what to expect if you have a cobbled street in front of you.
A bumpy ride – if you are on a bike. Yet it is not only the bane of cyclists but people on crutches or on phones need to watch it, too.

And then I found these cute bumps on some cobbles:

Common ground

Ground: sand, dirt, paths, walks, trails for Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge.

These stones are made for walking

Various cobblestones in Germany, from Schwetzingen, Weinheim, Mainz, and the last one from Durham, UK.

And these are special pavement stones, so called “Stolpersteine” (stumbling stones) commemorating men and women who have been deported to concentration camps during the persecution of Nazi Germany. More information on this art project can be found here.
This is a contribution to Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge, asking for “bricks or stones”.
