Coming into His Colours
A male juvenile mallard hasn’t quite finished putting on his shiny head dress.
It’s better visible from the side. His friend is a bit further along but not all his shiny feathers are there yet.

I wanna be like him when I grow up
Our friend was 84 when this photo was taken. He is now 89. He still comes on the walking trails of our running group – usually setting the pace for us when the trail goes uphill.
