To the Point

I could point out that while the socks are not that short, the word, the colour, the lips, the position of the feet are all designed to point out the message in a very compact, short way – but for the sake of brevity I will refrain.

The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Brevity.

When I am too slow

and the subject is moving:

A chaffinch, most likely.
A ray in an aquarium.

I used to delete such photos until my nephew asked: Why?

He’s right, of course. I wouldn’t have stuck these photos in a photo album but storage is not a problem these days. To be honest – the sense of movement, the essence of these animals, is somehow expressed through these less-than-perfect shots.

And occasionally a challenge comes along where I can even use these pictures.

The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Movement.

Designated Hug Space

Or possibly just advice for tree huggers?

The Ragtag Daily Prompt: Hug.

PS: The bakery in the back is named Hug, not because of any English command but because that’s the last name of the baker. It’s a regular German family name.

Chilly?

Rather!

We not only had snow but it is rather cold enough to stay and instead of turning into a mushy slush it crunches when you walk on it. Chilly it is but also rather lovely.

A Visual Echo

There is this little old house in our street. A couple of years ago it was renovated and the traditional half-timbered upper story was offset by the deep berry coloured groundfloor walls.

A quote from the Book of Proverbs from the Old Testament is written between two wooden beams:

Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established. (Solomon - Proverbs: 24:3)
Which in the German translation seems more appropriate for an actual house:
Through wisdom a house is built, through wit (or sense) it is kept.

And then I saw this house – in a town about 10 km away:

The same colour scheme, the same quotation, the same font.

But which one is an echo of the other?
