On 3 October 2015, we were in attendance when South Africa played Scotland in St James’ Park in Newcastle during the group matches for the Rugby Wold Cup 2015.  We were high up in the stands and I had a new camera with me:

X marks the spot

Those skis might not be much good on a piste anymore but they make great decorations.

Another wooden X – it is the top of a birdhouse made of the thick part of palm fronds, currently used as the centre piece of a small nativity scene.

Gallows

X marks the spot – in this case, the very spot were covenanters were hanged for their protestant faith in Edinburgh’s grassmarket area in the 17th century.  The memorial features a red version of the St Andrew’s cross.
