This sculpture is an example of Shona stone art, it stands in the Heidelberg Zoo. The artist is Colleen Madombe, born in Zimbabwe who lived in the capital Harare. She was internationally acclaimed and died, only 45-years-old, in 2009 in Harare.
Why did I post this here in reference to the prompt: “pleasant”?
Well, we, too, lived in Harare. We lived in a suburb called Emerald Hill next to the suburb of Mount Pleasant, where our kids nursery school was situated.
