To Point

I know “intransitive” in the grammatical meaning but that is really difficult to illustrate in a photo. An intransitive is “not aiming at anything”; i.e. has no object.

So here it is, an arrow being intransitive: not aiming at going up (considering it is at the bottom of a tower) nor aiming at the money box (because that was way over the other side).

An intransitive arrow. Not pointing at anything. Just pointing.

Identified Flying Objects: Caution – Danger to Life! Flying golf balls. Private property, do not enter.

I can’t help but imagine little golf balls with wings whirring through the air shooting tiny but deadly missiles on trespassers.

I’m a fan of crowns

Crests often feature crowns

and so do restaurants in their signs.

Some wear crowns better than others but these all wear theirs perfectly.

A crowning achievement.

2002 last a

That’s the last picture on my SD card in February.  It’s an sign from WWII and the equivalent of English posters of the time: “Careless talk costs lives” or “Loose lips sink ships”.  We’d been on a run for Leap Year with some friends (the last one we did four years ago, wouldn’t you know?) and were caught in a thunderstorm.  We took refuge in a local pub where we had food and drink to recuperate.  This replica sign caught my attention when we left the pub.

To prove that I am not making this up, I’ll gladly share the second to last photo for February:

Granny Smith Apple – Falafel

Falafel seit 1818

It’s not really the falafel that’s granny smith green.  But this sign has me wondering: What’s the significance of the number?  Vegetarian falafel since 1818!?!
