I’ve just returned from an awesome long weekend with friends in the Black Forest. I haven’t had time to sort any of the photos yet but I can give you this oddball find. We were an international group with many native English speakers and we had a great laugh trying to find out how to pronounce topogganing.

It is forbidden to: start and maintain an open fire, not even for barbecuing; to smoke (from beginning of March to end of October); to camp; to leave garbage behind; to use motorised vehicles on the paths without permit. I checked the dictionary where “vorglühen” is variously translated as pre-gaming, pre-drinking, pre-partying. However, this sign would have the opposite effect on me.
