Where have all the petals gone?
This flower is only missing a few petals but these poor birds are missing a whole leg:
A one-legged duck.
A one-legged stork.
A one-socked flamingo.

Slowflower
For a sunflower change is slow yet inevitable: a bud, slowly unfolding, the petals unfurling, the radiant flower in full bloom, attracting bees and other insects, then the drooping head with the wilting and finally withering petals.
I might add a shot with the seeds later during the year.
