Not planned but fresh of the SD-card from today. I took my class for an outing today. Primary location was the local library and then I took them on a walk to various parks in the area. There are two notable Ginkgotrees, one 135, the … Continue reading Miniature baubles

After seeing Busboy’s November Shadow, I had to change my planned shadow and use this square for the challenge and double dip with a bonus sixer for Debbie.

In case it’s not quite clear, the left figure is obviously Charlie Chaplin, the middle one Freddy Mercury, and last not least but least recognisable, Queen Elisabeth II. #14 November Shadows
Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old—
This knight so bold—
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow—
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be—
This land of Eldorado?"
"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied—
"If you seek for Eldorado!"

And on top of it all, I learned a new word: bedight. I suspected a typo but it is actually a word.

In 1960 Ted Herold, a German, at the time fairly well-known singer, aka Harald Walter Bernhard Schubring, had a no. 1 hit with the title “Moonlight”. I always assumed that it was a cover version of an English song but not so. It’s a German original, the only English word in the song is “moonlight”.
It’s not a bad song and it became the greatest hit of “the German Elvis”. If you want to check it out, here you go.
