Hand me that whatchamacallit!

If you read Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman you will know that there was a Sir Joshua Device, a Sir Humphrey Gadget, a Pietr Gizmo, a Cyrus T. Doodad and an Ella Reader Widget – they all invented “things so simple and universally useful that everyone forgot that they’d ever actually needed to be invented” and the utensils were named after them. I’m pretty sure that one of the thingies in my photos has been invented by Angus Watchamacallit, a Scottish inventor of (forgotten) renown.

Guess who’s coming to dinner?

Death of Rats - Reaper Man - Pratchett

I’ve been fooling around with toys and figures and I tried to combine this little crochet DEATH OF RATS with Terry Pratchett’s “Reaper Man”.  It ‘s not a good photo because of the shiny cover and the flash reflecting which is why I stopped on that day.

There is no justice.

cosmic spooky

K’lee and Dale have asked for spooky in their Cosmic Photo Challenge. This sculpture on a grave* is kind of spooky but I had to tweak the photo a bit to make it spookier.  Bright sunshine and lots of flowers don’t let themselves to spooky, no matter what the subject. The title is an echo of something that Terry Pratchett wrote.

*It wasn’t a real grave but part of an exhibition of graveside gardening at the national garden show in Brandenburg.
