The Perfect Response

Lately a lot of the local power distribution boxes have been painted in blue and black, the colours of a football club in the next town. The ultra fans of this club have stuck really ugly and offensive stickers on every possible surface. And now, the power boxes. But for once somebody (the town officials? – I don’t know who) has reacted and painted our town’s crest on the surfaces. A major improvement.

Too Big to Dust

That’s the crest on top of the huge wine vat in the cellar of the Heidelberg Castle – not the BIG vat, though, but quite big. And it’s dusty. FOWC with Fandango: Dusty

A Telling Name

A town less than 20km to the south from here and now a part of Heidelberg is called Handschuhsheim, literally translated “home of the glove”. This is its crest as displayed on the old castle Tiefburg in the middle of town: Ragtag Daily Prompt: Glove

The Power of Three

Three is a powerful number and often three of the same are used in crests and coat of arms. The three lilies are from the coat of arms of the town of Wiesbaden, the capital of the State of Hesse. The three rings are a medieval symbol for a bishop and this crest is displayed a the front of the Kloster Neuburg near Heidelberg.
