This is how the sky presented itself to me today – blue, clouds, grey, rain and then as a backdrop of the free fall tower at the Wurstmarkt in Bad Dürkheim – back in business again this year. More information about the biggest wine festival in the world can be found on the wikipedia site.

The last few weeks (months?) the sky has been relentlessly blue. So we went for a walk in the Exotenwald in Weinheim rather than in the open where there is little protection of sun. Whenever we looked up – the sky was blue. Here we are looking up at one of the 60m tall sequoias which are about 150 years old.

Excitement in the Air

Normally the sight of a rescue helicopter strikes fear or at least apprehension in the hearts of onlookers, even more so if one is vacationing at a lake. But in this case I was free to take photos with a clear conscience as the emergency physicians from the German automobile club came to meet the youngsters of the Life Saving Association who were on a training camp in the area.
