It was an afternoon last week.

Driving to Frankfurt one passes under the flight corridor of the airport and I try to have my camera ready (not while I’m at the steering wheel, of course). Sometimes I get lucky.

December skies have been mostly grey and overcast if they were visible through fog at all. But when the winds blow away the clouds, a winter sky can be glorious.

We had the first autumn storm blustering over our area. It didn’t bring much rain, at least around here, but the winds were quite strong and there was damage to some trees. Today the last of the clouds were passing overhead.

It’s still warm during the day but the morning cannot deny that autumn is on its way.
