

Weekend Sky #26 – and wasn’t it a gorgeous blue?

The wisp of cloud behind the ruin of the Windeck, a castle dating back to the 10th century, makes it look as if smoke was coming from a hidden oven.

This is another photo of the cold morning after the cold night we had last week, threatening the new blooms on the espaliered trees in the orchard. The clouds are, I think, cirrocumulus floccus (meaning “look of wool”).

I only wanted to show the bright blue sky. The storks are busy building nests and keep flying around.
My photo editing program (Photoscape) has a function called “auto level” and often the changes are hardly noticeable, what with the automatic settings on my camera. And then this happened:

This is one from the archive – the vast empty space in the forefront is the place where each year the world’s largest beer festival, the Münchner Oktoberfest, has been held since 1810 – with the exceptions of wartimes and pandemics.

It’s still kind of cold but there are blue skies with little puffy clouds and the air is full of expectancy.
