No, the proper name of the location is not that but it’s a literal translation. I was getting my daily walk yesterday afternoon in by driving into the hills and just before the sun went down I was rewarded with that view.

The sun never showed itself today, there was fog all around. But as I mentioned on Debbie’s Six Word Saturday – it was a good day, nevertheless. Ever since my back has started to give me grief I’ve been looking for exercises to help me. Three days ago I came upon another physiotherapist’s site with exercises specifically for sacroilac joint troubles and — they work! Either that or the tablets finally kicked in. I believe it was the exercises though, because the tablets showed no change for days and days and my back was immediately better after doing this particular set of exercises, almost like a switch had been turned. I’ve found other exercises which helped but not to such an extent that I dared to go for a walk. But today I couldn’t care less that it was freezing (literally) and grey – I was so happy to be able to walk for more than a few steps! There is hope – even in a grey sky dominated by crows.

Generally days have been grey, sometimes non-descript grey, sometimes wet grey. Doom descends after 3pm. And it’s dark at 5pm. Miserable. And then in between you get a day like yesterday. A sky as blue as you can wish for, a day when heroes are … Continue reading Grey, Grey, Grey, Glorious Blue, Grey …
After three days so grey that I had the impression that it never got quite light even at midday we woke up the “blue system” today. That’s a private sci-fi reference where an alien race bars all communication of a planet with the outside – … Continue reading The Blue System

We went out with our grandson this week to catch a glimpse of Tsuchinshan-Atlas. He of the unpronounceable name is a comet, the third brightest in the last 100 years I read. Unfortunately it was cloudy towards the west where it is to be seen (next to the evening star, Venus). But we turned around (and drove a couple of kilometers to get to the other side of the hill we where standing upon) and got to see the supermoon. This phenomenon appears when the moon is the closest to the earth with about 356,500 km. Since this is Weekend Sky I’m showing the moon in the sky including clouds but I will show a moon-centred photo tomorrow.
I find it amazing that anything that far away can be seen by me and photographed on my rather simple bridge camera.
