October Could Have Fooled Me

We’ve had it far too warm for the last few weeks. On Friday evening we could sit outside in t-shirts and it was balmy, like a proper summer evening. We were warned that the weather would change this weekend and I’ve seen on the news there was snow in the north east (about 750km distance) but we had this view on our Sunday stroll and I was wearing a long-sleeved tee. If you told me it was early September or even spring – I would have believed you.

Blue Skies Meant Warm Days, Cold Nights

It’s a photo from last weekend. I was at a camp out on the outskirts of the Black Forest. The skies were blue and during the day it was quite warm in the sunshine. As soon as one cloud moved in front of the sun, or we ran in the shade of the forest it was immediately cool. And I almost froze the tip of my nose at night – basically the only thing sticking out of the sleeping bag.

Short Relief

Admittedly NOT a weekend sky but memorable enough to share this weekend. On Wednesday evening we finally had some rain – and two rainbows for good measure.

During the night there was a heavy downpour accompanied by high winds, possibly even a storm. One tree on our school parking space broke in two, so more than possibly a storm. Temperatures are up again, it’s humid and there are insubstantial clouds.
