Some trees are not content with leaves on twigs, they want new twigs right on the trunk.
A green spring curtain in the middle of the forest.
Fruit trees want more than just green in spring.
These cherry trees were pruned, the fallen twigs looking like lace on the gras.

Fortunately, I saw this in a little pond in a forest in Germany. If I were still in Botswana, holidaying in the Okavango Delta I might respond by taking my legs out of the water before guessing who is drifting by.
