The Masked Educator

During the time-which-shall-not-be-named there was a mask mandate which fragmented the people of the earth into those who could afford a mask, those who couldn’t, those who thought it was a horrible idea, those who thought it was an okay idea and better than nothing, those who pretended they couldn’t breathe and those who just got on with it, those for whom it was new and those who wore masks for hours on end in their normal life anyway (and no one ever died from it).

A hero was born at this time – the Masked Educator and his furry sidekick:

His mission: To educate people everywhere about the advantages of wearing a mask, proper ones and improvised ones, especially in the beginning when proper masks were available but hoarded by greedy individuals and corporations who made a killing during the time-which-shall-not-be-named (and whose moneygrubbing deeds are still uncovered today).

PS: And his secondary message was not forgotten, either: Desinfect!

  1. Whoever thought that simply wearing a mask to retard the threat of passing on or receiving a potentially fatal virus would become such a political hot potato that would cause so much strife?

    1. I used to smile (privately!) about Asian tourists who’d wear masks in public trains, I thought they wear paranoid. But I learned that being paranoid doesn’t mean they are not after you. I still avoid crammed trains during flu season, and I wear a mask if I think I could pass something on or if the sniffles around me are too much. For the life of me I do not not understand how this makes me a sheep or a blind believer in authority.
