If you want to visit Burg Rheinstein you have to pay your dues. The Middle Rhine Valley is very narrow. Parking is at a premium. So the parking below the castle is limited to 2 hours and it costs 2 Euros. Then you have to walk up a really steep path to the to castle – a different kind of due. Then you have 1 1/2 hour or however much time you have left of two hours minus the path (x2) to look at the castle, enjoy the wondrous views of a UNESCO heritage sight, have a snack or a drink and hurry down again.
