I’ve had these pictures on my files for a while. They were taken with a mobile phone so the quality is not good. I’ve always wanted to go back with a proper camera but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
The murals are situated on a walkway that fans of the football club of Frankfurt take before entering the actual stadium areal. Obviously.

At first I thought the skull mural was a wry comment about the human condition: We never walk alone because death is our constant companion. Then I realized it was about fandom. Silly me. Thanks for contributing to this week’s Monday Mural.

I think “You never walk alone” was originally the song of the Liverpool football fans. In Germany I know of at least 2 clubs that have adopted it as their official hymn. To be honest, I’d prefer the mural if it were meant in your sense – I never understood why football fans have to adorn themselves with skulls.
