And these are special pavement stones, so called “Stolpersteine” (stumbling stones) commemorating men and women who have been deported to concentration camps during the persecution of Nazi Germany. More information on this art project can be found here.

Thanks. This installation ties in with the stumbling blocks/stones of the last photo because it is meant to remember the people who were deported as well. Because of the mirrors I always think it means “there but for the grace of god …”. But it lends itself to wonderful photos depending on what (or who) one catches in the reflection.
