Charles V., Maximilian I., and Ferdinand I. – all three Emperors of the Holy Roman Empire in the last years of the Middle Ages.  This is the sign of a restaurant in Augsburg, Bavaria.

  1. It was a long time ago but I do believe I’ve seen this sign. Many years ago we visited parents of friends in Munich, I’m sure we visited Augsburg during a weekend trip from there. We visited so many places it’s hard to remember them all through the mists of time. Thanks for reminding me. It will be a talking point today.
