    1. No, they are just standing on the lights and they are actually not Christmas lights at all. Each year our town has a large festival and one can purchase one of these figurines (each year a different one) which is then the entry token to the illuminated park and some other attractions. The first ones were traditional figures, like the local traditional costume, a nightwatchman, an organ grinder, and so on, and then more figures like the ice man and the toy seller were added.
