Lepidoptophobia – the fear of flying insects.

A hover fly.

A colibri hawk moth.
It will (probably) be my last look to phobias but for anybody who wants to look into phobias I can offer:
- chiroptophobia = fear of bats
- gatopardophobia = fear of cheetahs
- mephitophobia = fear of skunks
- onomatophobia =fear of names
- autophobia = fear of being alone
- dentophobia = fear of dentists
- domatophobia = fear of houses
- nyctophobia = fear of the dark
- octophobia = fear of the figure 8
This is my twentieth square for Becky’s April Square Challenge.

You are kidding? These are real phobias? I love your offerings for today. Luckily I don’t suffer from lepidoptophobia.

Yes, they are. The phobias were taken from a site of less common, nevertheless real phobias. 🙂

I know quite a few people who suffer mild forms of lepidoptophobia, not that they nor I for that matter knew there was a name for it!

PS and I suffer from one of the ones in your list. Apparently it is quite common

Now you have me guessing, of course. Personally, I don’t think I have gatopardophobia – but I am, nevertheless, afraid of cheetahs if I ever were to meet one in the wild.

Yes I would be worried if I met one too face to face 😉
mine is probably the mundane one on there and it is something we all should visit twice a year!

I thought it might be. Luckily, I’m not afflicted. I used to take my boys to my check ups and let them lie on my tummy during the procedure so that they could find it relaxing.
