This colour collage based on Aino’s template:

needs a bit of an explanation, I fear. Aino named the colour “lovage” (after the herb) which the automatic translator from Finnish to English turned into “lipstick“. Isn’t it obvious that I had to use this lipstick using monkey in my collage?

Lipstikka is traditional herb Levisticum officinale, deutch Liebstöckel. Your collage is funny. Some finnish words are little bit difficult to translate and I must to take little time to take correct word. But yes, there are just a perfect shades of colours.

Interesting about “lipstikka”. But I don’t think it is just Finnish words. I find that English-other West European languages work quite well with machine translations (although as a translator of English-German I still find many stupid mistakes) but translations of languages which are structurally further removed (like Finnish, like Hebrew, like Farsi etc.) into English are often little more than gibberish. Also, google translator always takes a detour via English, so a translation from Finnish to German is actually Finnish – English – German and the probability of mistakes is immediately doubled.

Yes. Lipstikka doesn’t finnish. In here Finland it has also name liperi which is also place name in North-Carelia.

Danke. Mir gefällt dein formschnittgegärtnerter Pudel (das englische Wort “topiary” ist da einfach passender). Schöne Collage!
