I presume you know the children’s story: My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes’? It does feature a cat from Berlin … https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaxCVUFjTNM

No, I didn’t. But these days one can find many children’s book read aloud on youtube. This one as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHO3RmvNarc I would like it better if the cat from Berlin wouldn’t wear lederhosen – sorry, pet peeve: only for a very small number of Germans this is traditional garb, actually: before word war I hardly anybody wore it and only the Nazis made them popular. Berlin is geographically and geographically as far away from lederhosen as one can get. 🤔 Sorry, rant over.

It’s such an old book. I read it to my children, who are now well into their 40s, when they were small, and I think national stereotypes were (regrettably) less unacceptable then. They haven’t grown up with negative stereotypes about Germans or anyone else luckily as their lives included other influences!
